I have been sent information about a new network for Catholic educators which is due to start in 2012. It sounds like a good idea and so I have set out the relevant information below.
THE INTERNATIONAL NETWORK FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION(INCE)
1. Mission Statement
To provide Catholic school leaders and teachers with ideas, inspirations, examples of good practice and research reports to improve the integrity and effectiveness of the various forms of educational work in which they are engaged. To help ensure that the mission integrity of Catholic education is maintained in contemporary conditions.
2. Aims
a. To help Catholic educators to improve their educational practice by providing access to staff development resources on various aspects of Catholic education.
b. To assist Catholic educators undertaking further academic and professional courses, by facilitating regular access to International Studies in Catholic Education (ISCE), as a study resource.
c. to realise the rich potential of international cross-cultural learning which is present in the Catholic educational mission worldwide
d. To provide a forum for discussion between Catholic teachers and Church leaders, policy-makers and educational researchers.
e. to facilitate networks for individual teachers who wish to organise exchange arrangements with Catholic schools in other cultures.
3. Subscriptions and Membership Benefits
For a subscription of £35 p.a. members will receive the following benefits:-
a. A complimentary copy of International Studies in Catholic Education(ISCE) each year.
b. Copies of CRDCE’s Professional Focus Series of texts for staff development, at discounted rates.
c. Regular notification of seminars, conferences and study groups on various issues in Catholic education, nationally and internationally.
d. Assistance with plans for academic projects (advanced degrees) or research applications.
e. Help with making contacts with Catholic schools internationally.
4. Applications
a. Please complete an application form (which you get by emailing Professor Grace at the address below) and send in with a cheque for £35 payable to :-
